Two Sigma Investments, LP seeks Software Engineer in NY, NY. Includes but not limited to develop & maintain systems for ingesting, processing & storing news data from various sources, including news wires, websites & social media platforms. Write high-quality, efficient & scalable code for proprietary research systems & data analysis tools.
Note: Company "Hybrid" work attendance policy: In-office work attendance required at aforementioned office address for collaboration days based on each team's requirement; telecommuting/working from home permissible for remainder of same month.
Must have Bachelor's or equivalent in CS, Math, or related field + 2 years experience in software engineering or related experience. Must have experience with developing high-performance, multi-threaded applications using several programming languages including Java or C++. Must have experience with algorithms & data structures for efficient problem-solving & software development. Must have demonstrated knowledge of software engineering including version control, testing, debugging & code optimization & familiarity with GIT & Jenkins. Must have experience with distributed computing concepts & frameworks for handling large-scale data processing. Must have experience with big data technologies like Apache Hadoop or Apache Spark for handling & processing large datasets. Must have demonstrated knowledge of numerical programming skills utilizing technologies such as Pandas & NumPy. Must have experience with cloud platforms (Azure & GCP). Must have experience with databases & data storage systems for handling & retrieving large datasets. Must have experience with machine learning techniques & libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, HuggingFace & Scikit-Learn). Must have demonstrated knowledge of math & statistical concepts, particularly as they apply to quantitative finance. Must have experience with applying quantitative methods to solve financial & math problems & expertise in data analysis including estimation methods, time series analysis & machine learning techniques. Must have experience with front-end technologies & designing & developing user interfaces using HTML, CSS & JavaScript. Must have experience with machine learning & NLP techniques for tasks such as text classification, sentiment analysis, named entity recognition, & machine translation. Must have experience with working collaboratively in team-oriented environment. Must pass company's required skills assessment. Employer will accept any amount of experience with required skills.
