Duties: Position requires candidate to manage various programs including planning, developing, and/or evaluating requirements of new programs. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Taking new products from the concept stage to production stage while ensuring all program elements are being tracked so as to ensure that budgets and timing commitments are maintained, and changes in programs status are effectively communicated to all stakeholders. Identifying capital equipment sources while supervising buy-off of equipment. Leading APQP team and activities as well as leading technical component specification, sourcing, and supplier development. Participating in continuous improvement efforts based on the feedback from external and internal related performance indicators. Specifying special tools and fixtures where required and estimating cycle times for each operation in the process. Preparing quotations and maintaining control of customer drawings and revisions. Ensuring that the process is capable of producing parts to specifications while modifying the process and updating all relevant documentation when required. Keeping records, transmit information to other departments. Estimating cycle times for each operation in the process.
MINIMUM requirements: Post-Secondary certification in Manufacturing or Engineering courses. Minimum of four years of technical experience in a CNC machining or manufacturing environment preferably in a Manufacturing Technician position. Completion of a Program Management Course or equivalent experience. Must have previous APQP experience as a team member or a lead. Experience with the use of statistical analysis software. Able to write technical proposals and effectively communicate with all stakeholders. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in computer-assisted design programs to create scaled drawings of parts, tools, machines, systems and plant layouts including GD&T. (i.e. Microsoft Office including Project, AutoCAD, SolidWorks). Able to modify and evaluate CNC programs for Machining Centers, Lathes and Special Purpose Machinery. Able to evaluate adequacy of procedures for isolating root cause factors for production deficiencies or decreased product quality. Able to evaluate condition and reliability of production equipment to make purchasing and recommendations. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to grasp technical concepts quickly. Ability to prioritize and work multiple tasks to completion. Ability to collaborate and work in team environment.
