Under supervision of partners: identify legal issues & strategies, advise clients, and oversee case management in complex commercial & intellectual property litigation & arbitration disputes, including those involving multiple claims, parties, or jurisdictions, & participate in all technical aspects of patent litigation, including claim construction, patent validity & patent infringement issues, & assertion of affirmative defenses including inequitable conduct.
Requirements:
- J.D. or foreign equivalent
- Experience in job offered or related occupation must include at least 3 years of experience at an international law firm:
- Researching & drafting pleadings, briefs, motions, & other submissions in commercial & intellectual property litigation involving multiple claims, parties, & jurisdictions in complex international commercial arbitrations
- Participating in all technical aspects of patent litigation, including claim construction, patent validity & patent infringement issues, & assertion of affirmative defenses including inequitable conduct
- Identifying & analyzing legal issues within complex, multi-party litigation & arbitration disputes, including issues relating to international arbitration rules & procedures
- Working with expert witnesses, including preparation of expert reports & preparation for depositions & trial testimony
- Assisting in preparation of direct & cross-examination of witnesses at trial
- Must be admitted to practice law in New York State
40 hours/week.
